Great travel tells a compelling story.

On my way to winning nine Alabama Press Association Better Newspaper Contest awards as a small-town journalist in my 20s, I developed a fundamental principle: You can’t do the story justice unless you’ve been on the scene. Over a decade and several adventures later, I built this website on that very concept. Welcome, and thanks for coming along for the ride.
